The Quality section of the AP Portfolio consists of 5 original and high quality works that are matted, mounted, and
actually sent in to be graded by the college board. The following five pieces are some of the best pieces I completed
this year (or last year).
Garment study: charcoal, my Mom's jeans jacket drawn from life.
21 Squares: colored pencil, charcoal. A vase of dried roses in my
room. The square pattern overlay is from my final problem at
Governor's Honors Program last summer where we had to use a
matrix to solve for the integer side lengths of each square.
Valdosta: mono-print, acrylic, chalk. A scene
from Valdosta State University in Georgia where
I went to Governor's Honors last summer.
Drawing: graphite, coke. No, coke is not a new media. Someone
spilled coke on this drawing while it was hanging at my school's art
show. I had to send it in with the coke on it. The drawing is a severely
distorted life-drawing of me and my friend Christen. We sat at the
same table during class first semester.
"Tyler in
50
Years":

charcoal,
acrylic.
Drawn from a
picture my
friend Ryann
took on a bus
in Boston.
We think it
looks like our
friend Tyler
will look
when he is an
old man.
