Alkoni Studios- About the Artist

Hey Everybody! My name is Blair Lyons and I am the artist of Alkoni Studios. I am eighteen years old
and just graduated as salutatorian from Blessed Trinity Catholic High School (BT) in Roswell,
Georgia. I'm now headed to Virginia Tech to major in engineering. I am in the honors program and will
be living in the Main Campbell honors community! I'm very excited!

Of course, as a result of me moving away to college, I will have to stop painting and sculpting models
for a little while, maybe for years, I don't know. I won't have the time or studio space in college, grad
school and probably not in my first apartment. I'll let you know when I'm back in business hopefully
here, since I want to keep up my website, but who knows.

As far as art goes, my favorite subject is obviously horses. I have been drawing horses since I could
pick up a crayon and have been sculpting them since elementary school. I never had private lessons. I
would have liked someone to show me techniques, but I don't think I could deal with anyone telling
me what or how to draw. I haven't had a very good experience with art teachers. My middle school
teacher didn't have a clue about art. My high school teacher and I didn't always get along well either. I
took AP Studio Art last year. It was a ton of work and very frustrating working with my teacher (See my
Portfolio). I did not take art at school this year but I did take an oil painting class at the local arts center
in the spring.

If you would like to talk to me about any of my pieces, feel free. Also if you would like advice about
anything or are just starting with models and need help, feel free to ask me. I was in your position
about five years ago. No one ever really sat down and showed me how to do anything, so my learning
process was slow and painful (you don't want to go through that, trust me).
